The Sacramento CERT program's TF-7 Mobilization Team provides 24x7 standby support for CA TF-7/CalOES mobilizations and demobilizations. What does this mean? Any time CA TF-7/CalOES is deployed to a disaster zone, Sacramento CERT TF-7 Deployment Team members answer the call (24x7x365) and help the team mobilize for action.
To our knowledge, we are the only CERT team in the country that deploys and recovers a FEMA US&R team.
Sacramento CERT members man stations at the US&R Cache and help the firefighters:
- check their vehicles in
- complete required deployment paperwork
- secure specialized PPE
- secure deployment bags
- secure PATS devices, Communications equipment, and HAZMAT PPE
- take flight weight, and
- manifest the members
We also provide other logistical support as required.
This class teaches Sacramento CERT members the assigned TAP positions for CERT members, and how each position functions. Students will also tour the TF-7 equipment cache to become familiar with the TAP and station locations within the TAP.
