The Northern California Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 7 (USAR TF-7) is holding its first full mobilization exercise this April and SFD CERT will be an integral part of the training.
The USAR team will go through the entire process of alerting its members, mobilizing at their Team Assembly Point (TAP), deploying to a number of locations, and tackle a number of skill challenges including water rescues, canine searches, medical triage, treatment, transport, and breaching buildings to rescue trapped occupants. The event will last 2 days from activation to demobilization and stress every part of team plans, operations and logistics.
We will need the greatest number of our qualified SFD CERT Volunteers for Wednesday, April 24th as that is the first day of the MOBEX and their team needs to be put through the Team assembly Point in quick order.
We can get by with fewer of our trained volunteers on the following day, Thursday, April 25th as the demobilization process is more streamlined.
- For mobilization (Wednesday, 4/24/2024, 0700 – 1200 hours) we need 18 members
- For demobilization (Thursday, 4/25/2024, 1300 – 1800 hours) we need 9 members
