The City of Sacramento is asking Sacramento CERT to provide medical coverage for Earth Day clean-up and beautification events on Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at locations citywide.Sacramento CERT members would be on hand in the event of minor injuries to volunteers who are helping with clean-up and beautification projects at the following locations:
- Arcade Creek in Del Paso Regional Park (Longview Dr.)
- Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way)
- Miller Regional Park (2701 Marina View Dr.)
We would like to assemble pairs of two (an EMR paired with a basic CERT member) to be at these sites.
We need a minimum of 6 members, however more are always welcome. Members will need to be at Roseville Road at 0830 to pick up our CERT van, truck, and medical gear. The teams for the Sacramento Marina and Miller Regional Park (4 members) will both travel in 9904, the team that works at Del Paso Regional park (2 members) will take the van. Any additional members can follow in their personal vehicles and depart the day from the parks. Those traveling in vehicles will need to return to Roseville Road after the event.
The events start at 0900 and end at 12:00. Teams will return to Roseville Road to debrief and we expect to be clear of Roseville Road by 12:30 or so.
